[What is a domain name
for?] [What is a WHOIS?]
Domain names are one of the three essential components to having a
web site. With HostNed, e you have 3 different options for domain
names. Choose the one that is best for you:
EASY
A: Register with us - (managed and private) If you register it with us during
the enrollment process (while signing up for your web hosting account)
then we manage the domain name for you. It is a "hands-off"
solution for you. That means we take care of the assignment of the
nameserver settings, renewals, and any support that may be needed to
maintain the domain name. It is also "private" which means that
your personal information is not made public in the WHOIS record. The cost is $29 annually for most
TLDs
TLD stands for "Top Level Domain" a.k.a. "Domain Name Extension".
Examples are .com, .net, and .org.
INTERMEDIATE
B: Register with our partner - (self-managed) Save a few bucks by
registering with our partner
DomainsNed.com.
You manage the domain and we can accurately advise you. The cost
is around $15 annually for most
TLDs
TLD stands for "Top Level Domain" a.k.a. "Domain Name Extension".
Examples are .com, .net, and .org..
ADVANCED
C: Register externally elsewhere - (self-managed) Already have
a preferred domain registrar? No problem. Use the nameserver
settings we assign to you and keep your domain name where it is.
Don't spend $35 for a domain name at Network Solutions or Yahoo
- All of our names now cost only $15 per year or cheaper, and
we include the best management features available (like domain forwarding,
DNS management, and more) at no extra charge!
